skipping ahead stops stream
#1
I'm watching something on iplayer and already halfway through watching but on another device.

I'd like to skip ahead 30 mins but when I press the >> 10mins button it just stops the stream.

Code:
[25/May/2015:21:02:07]  STARTING: youtube-dl
[25/May/2015:21:02:23]  READY: youtube-dl
[25/May/2015:21:02:23]  STARTING: dlsrv
[25/May/2015:21:02:26]  READY: dlsrv
[25/May/2015:21:02:26]  STARTING: omxplayer
[25/May/2015:21:02:27]  READY: omxplayer
192.168.1.88 - - [25/May/2015:21:02:35] "GET /api/playr?fn=control&data=%7B%22action%22%3A%22plus600%22%7D HTTP/1.1" 200 4 "http://raspberrypi.local:6969/" "Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_10_2) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/43.0.2357.65 Safari/537.36"
[25/May/2015:21:02:36]  FINISHED: omxplayer
[25/May/2015:21:02:36]  PIPE STOPPED

I suspect this might be because the video hasn't loaded past this point?

How can I better see error messages, is there a 'verbose mode'

Hi Paul,

How well the skip ahead works depends on the stream type (rtmp streams being the least reliable). The worst is ITV player where it does not work at all. The next worst is BBC iplayer where it sometimes works. It tends to work better when the video has loaded upto the point you want to skip to. The point of failure is omxplayer which will just suddenly stop with no error messages or anything.

There is not a more verbose mode currently. It would show a better error message if omxplayer provided one - unfortunately it just stops without reporting any errors.
