I will look into this. Do you know of any other pi media centres that provide VPN support that I can take at look at?

Nope! But I would totally use yours over anything else if you had support for it and they didn't!

Being BlissFlixx is installed on Raspbian wouldn't it just be easier to use OpenVPN or any other similar piece of software?

i dont think popcorn works on a pi but i found this

Just launch an openVpn session like chaos_jockey said, very simple to do and will let you view any content that way.

thanks but that is not as simple as you make it sound..lol
i had to learn a lot "that's a good thing"
i did finally get openvpn on a windows box tried on the pi and a mint box ,and probably can get it to work on them now
but i still can't find certs for a free U.K. server..bbc blocks the euro servers i have found..
