  Movie Subtitles Now Supported
Posted by: MrBliss - 03-31-2015, 02:03 PM - Forum: Annoucements - Replies (32)

There is now support for Movie subtitles in BlissFlixx  Smile

UPGRADING
===========
To update your existing BlissFlixx installation first run:

Code:
sudo pip install subliminal

Now from the BlissFlixx web interface select "Settings" > "UPDATE & RESTART"

Finally refresh your browser.

USING
=====
Subtitles are available for the Youtube Movies channel, Kickass Movies and YTS Movies. Entries from these channels will show a "Play With Subtitles" option for each movie. If you select this action you will be prompted for the movie name & year (usually filled in automatically) and the subtitles language (your preference will be remembered). Once these are set then select the play button.

PLAYLISTS
=========
Movies that you have already added to your playlists will not show the "Play With Subtitles" option. You will need to add the movie to your playlist again.

Let me know if anybody finds any issues with the subtitles implementation.

Coming next: subtitles for TV series.

[Tutorial] How to make the BlissFlixx server start at boot
Posted by: Stenl38 - 03-28-2015, 08:21 AM - Forum: Tutorials - Replies (6)

Hi folks,

This is my first post here, and I'm glad to present to you the startup script.

Please note, this is the easiest using ssh, as you can just copy and paste the script, but not necessary. You can enable ssh in raspi-config. Read more about it here.

We'll get right into business with the script.

At first, type:

Code:
sudo nano /etc/init.d/superscript

This will open up the text file /etc/init.d/superscript.

Put the following code in it, any way you like (typing, pasting it, I recommend pasting though):

Code:
#!/bin/bash
cd /home/pi/blissflixx
sudo -u pi "./boot.sh"

Replace both "pi"'s with your username. We have to sudo the user because you cannot open BlissFlixx with elevated permissions.
Then, to save the script, press ctrl+x, then hit y for confirmation, and then enter/return.

This will save the script.
First off, make the script executable:
Code:
sudo chmod 755 /etc/init.d/superscript

Last thing to do is test the script by typing
Code:
/etc/init.d/superscript

Then, register it to start at boot:
Code:
sudo update-rc.d superscript defaults

And you're all done!
I hope you enjoyed my tutorial!
Have fun with it!

EDITED BY ADMIN 4 March 2016: Use new boot.sh script

Install from zip file no longer supported
Posted by: MrBliss - 03-23-2015, 04:46 PM - Forum: Annoucements - No Replies

If you installed from a zip file rather than running:

Code:
git clone

You will need to remove your installation and then reinstall again using git clone.

This because the server update functionality - "RESTART & UPDATE" on the settings page - will not work if you do not install via git clone.

Apologies for this.

  some ideas
Posted by: masoko - 03-22-2015, 12:49 PM - Forum: Feature Requests - Replies (1)

It will be very useful to remember the place where you stopped the stream so you can resume it later.
Notification when you try to add a duplicate stream to a playlist.

It will be useful if the server can be controlled with command line parameters , when started as deamon
- like mpc (you can play, pause, stop, load playlists, next from playlist)

for example:
./blissflixx.py next - to load the next movie from the current playlist

This way the streamer could be controlled with a remote or buttons on the rpi box.

I am using blissfixx to stream torrents from YTS torrents and it works great - the playback starts in 5-10 seconds - once it can handle subtitles I forget about torrent downloading Big Grin

  Player for Twitch.TV
Posted by: davidpox - 03-22-2015, 01:59 AM - Forum: Feature Requests - Replies (6)

Would love to see a plugin for Twitch.TV. It's the only reason why I'm not trying out BlissFlixx just yet. I currently use my Pi for Kodi and using the Twitch.TV plugin on there.

Plugins for YTS, Kickass, EZTV, Pirate Bay
Posted by: Brian - 03-19-2015, 09:17 AM - Forum: Plugins - Replies (43)

Hi,

Here are some plugins I created. To install first go to your blissflixx installation directory. Now cd into the plugins directory:

Code:
cd plugins

Now run the following 4 commands to install all plugins:

Code:
git clone https://brian_swollocks@bitbucket.org/brian_swollocks/bfch_yts_torrents.git
git clone https://brian_swollocks@bitbucket.org/brian_swollocks/bfch_kickass_torrents.git
git clone https://brian_swollocks@bitbucket.org/brian_swollocks/bfch_eztv.git
git clone https://brian_swollocks@bitbucket.org/brian_swollocks/bfch_pirate_bay.git

Finally restart your server.

I didn't see anything on the main page about this, but could you add options for a VPN?

Thanks! Smile

Hi

Firstly, nice work. Great (potential) addition to my pi. However, a few things.

1. BBC iplayer doesn't work. The stream stops shortly after initiating but before any video starts.

2. It would be great if there was a way to stop the server and return back to the terminal screen

3. Any way of having this as a window? The reason I ask is that am using my pi with an HDMIPI screen and not a separate TV. So although the videos work nicely and look great on the screen, I don't have separate controls via a remote and would like to be able to manipulate my pi while the video is playing, as well as stop everything and return back to terminal.

4. I get a screen full of garbage characters when videos stop.

Think that is all for the moment but there is some other stuff that I'll come back to at a later date. But again, thanks, it looks good when working
